Hi, we're Meg and Kael!
We are a husband & wife photography team specializing in weddings, families, and couples.
We started dating in 2014 when we were just two kids working together at Tim Hortons. Since then, we’ve travelled, worked, gotten married, got a dog, spent lots of time hiking with said dog, and most recently we decided to start a family. We’re preparing to welcome our little boy this April and couldn’t be more excited. ​
We started Maass Media in January 2025, initially focusing on weddings but expanding to couples and family photography as well. We’re excited about this new venture for many reasons (like meeting new people, honing our photography & videography skills, and giving Meg something to focus on during mat leave), but mostly we’re excited because we love working together and we think we’re a darn good team. Just ask the folks at Tim Hortons :)

I’ve been into photography for over ten years - mostly as a hobby, taking photos of my wife, our dog, and the landscapes around the lower mainland. Along the way, I discovered a love for portraiture, which led me to take the leap into professional photography.
I spent the last few years working as a photographer for a construction company. While that may seem unrelated to weddings and family shoots, it reminded me why I love being behind the camera and showed me that turning my passion into a career may actually be possible.
I decided to get my start in freelance photography by offering family and couple shoots, always doing my best to capture candid and authentic moments of you, your loved ones, and the beautiful West Coast. ​

When it comes to my sessions, I keep things relaxed and real. I’m not into staging every shot; I’d rather let genuine moments unfold and capture
them as they happen. At weddings, I like to blend into the background so that you, your friends, and your family can just enjoy the day. When I’m off the clock, you’ll probably find me hiking a new trail or hanging out at home with my wife and our dog. Megan Maass
My involvement with Maass Media started with me simply setting up Kael’s Instagram account, sifting through 10 years of photos to start showcasing his talent. From there, I became unhealthily obsessed with growing his business and dove headfirst into the digital marketing, social media management, operations, and business development aspects of Maass Media.
I started attending Kael’s shoots and realized I also loved the boots on the ground work, so I have started dabbling in videography and content creation. I’m very excited to have found a component of this business where I can bring in my creative side, rather than soley managing the business side.
I currently work full-time as a Project Manager, and when I’m not PMing or working on Maass Media, you can find me hiking, running, rock climbing,

Koda Maass

Koda is a rescue from the interior of Canada who joined our family in 2020. She is high energy, high maintenance, and struggles with extreme fear-based reactivity, but she is the best thing that ever happened to us. Bringing her into our family was without a doubt the most challenging thing we've done, but also the most rewarding decision we've ever made.

As the Manager of Location Scouting, Koda dictates where we go on weekends to scout new locations for future shoots. She ensures all locations are safe and beautiful, making sure to mark her territory many times before we go home. ​​
